OCTOBER 02: “INTEGRITY AS ALIGNMENT”

DATE: Friday 02  October  2026

TOPIC:  “INTEGRITY AS ALIGNMENT”

TEXT: 1 Timothy 3:1-7

MEMORY VERSE:  “It is a true saying that if someone wants to be an elder, he desires an honorable responsibility.” – 1 Timothy 3:1 (NLT)

Many people have the intention to lead without integrity and to desire without discipline. God will only appoint a man that is aligned with Him, a man of integrity. Integrity means that your private life and public leadership tell the same story, yes, the same story. Paul describes leadership not primarily through achievements but through character: self-control, faithfulness, hospitality, maturity and a good reputation.

Alignment occurs when convictions, communications, conversations, character and conduct agree. A leader who teaches honesty, but practices deception is misaligned. One who demands discipline but lives carelessly is misaligned. One who is nice outside and mean at home is grossly misaligned. Integrity detests duality. It demands that you live by the same standard either in public or in private. It is to constantly check your life with divine “plumb line” and ensure that you are in alignment and right standing with God.

Your leadership cannot sustainably rise above the quality of your character. People may temporarily follow your gifts, position or charisma, but lasting influence is built on trust. Is there any gap between what you teach, what you really believe and how you live? Which of the elements of integrity in today’s passage do you need to give attention to?

PRAYER: Father, forgive me and remove every contradiction that exist in my convictions and my conduct. Make me a leader of integrity. Give me the humility and courage to make necessary adjustments in the name of Jesus, Amen.
