Topic: “Showcasing the power of God in Creation”
Text: Gen 1:1-3, 26-27
Memory Verse: John 1:1 “In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God”.
Did you know that there are probably between 100 and 400 billion stars in our galaxy alone, while our galaxy is but one of around 100 billion galaxies. Just imagine how grandiose the whole world is! Elementary science told us that the earth revolves round the sun and then, another school of thought claimed that the earth is stationery.
From the above, one thing that remains true is that God created all these things. The power of God was manifested in the creation story – vs. 26 of today’s text; “Then God said Let us” meaning more than one person was involved in the creation experience. The “Us” refers to God almighty, the Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit. The trinity was there in all its power, at the beginning and at the creation of all the nature we so much admire and since then the earth is still as he created it.
The power of God confirms to us his omnipotence. Is there anything you are looking up to God for Today? I can confidently tell you that the power available during creation is still available for you today. God’s creative power is proof of his love for us, to give us all that we need. He has created us to worship him and praise him for all that he made. Do you thank God for all that you are enjoying in nature or you are like the critics who seek for how to disprove the sovereignty of God? Nothing in nature is man-made and no one can change that, rather by our actions, we destroy it.
Teach your children to acknowledge God in all his creation, let it be a subject of your worship and let it strengthen your faith, knowing that God has made the elements of nature to fulfil his purpose and whatever we desire according to his will shall come to pass. Amen
PRAYER: Thank you Lord for the words you spoke which made the earth to come into being. Whatsoever may seem impossible, I declare that you will make it possible through your power in Jesus’ name, Amen.
