Topic: “Showcasing the power of God in Creation II”
Text: Gen 1:3-5
Memory Verse: John 1:12 – “As many as received him, to them he gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in his name”.
The power of God is seen in how he brough forth light out of darkness. No chemist could have done that, the best we have done is the artificial light bulb, which took many years and failed attempts before we got what we now have. Even for the artificial light, the inventions came because of God’s divine wisdom to the discoverers.
God is all powerful and he is a God of order, this we see in the details of the creation story. Before light was made, the earth was without form. This can depict some life journey where we are confused about the next steps to take or the decision to make is not clear to us, when we get to this crossroad, we need to rely on the power of God. That power that comes through the trinity of God the father, the son and Holy Spirit. When we call upon him, he will make his light known that we will know the step to follow, what to do and how to resolve the problem.
The light that God made was used to separate the darkness from the light and he called the light, day and darkness, night. The same way God has given his children authority to command their day and to change their outcomes in line with his word. The authority that you have as a son of God should make you confident. Situations should not overwhelm you to a point of helplessness.
Today, command your day and create light out of any darkness. Receive light to resolve all difficulties in your path today.
Prayer: Because I have received Jesus as my Lord and Saviour, I have a right to be called his son and daughter. I demand that light shines forth out of every darkness in my path today in Jesus name, Amen.
