Topic: “THE DANGER OF INGRATITUDE –NEGATIVE INFLUENCE ON SOCIETY”
Text: ROMANS 12:16-18
Memory Verse: “If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men” – Romans 12:18.
Chorus: Daily as I live, Often as I breathe, Let my whole life, be expressions of your grace
Ingratitude can lead to a breakdown of societal values and communal living. When people are not appreciative of others, it can lead to a selfish and fragmented society where everyone minds their business. When this happens, people tend to look the other way instead of assisting their neighbors knowing that they would not get a simple “thank you” in return. It also leads to a loss of trust in society.
Today’s text encourages believers to be humble and help others, including persons of low estate in the society. Christians are to imbibe honesty and live peaceably with all categories of people in the society. By so doing, they will appreciate the grace of God in their lives and be drawn closer to the Lord and may be receptive to the message of salvation.
Do you know your neighbors? Are you humble enough to identify their areas of need and assist them as much as it lies within your power? The Lord needs you to demonstrate His love to society.
PRAYER: Lord, make me a positive influence on the society around me, Amen.
