Topic: “SILENT AWE”
Text: LUKE 2.19, HABAKKUK 2.20
Memory Verse: “The Lord is in his holy temple; let all the earth be silent before him” – Habakkuk 2:20.
Silence is golden. This is a popular statement. It refers to the fact that keeping quiet can be more profitable, more revealing, and deeper than spoken words. As we have seen, this is true in our dealings with our Heavenly Father.
As the Holy Spirit brooded over the waters, in the beginning, so He broods over our hearts today. He is our silent witness. The innermost thoughts of every man, woman and child is known to our God. Words are necessary in our interactions with other humans but not with our God. He knows us, in and out.
As Christians, we bear God within us, so He is already in His Holy temple. He is doing His transformative work. He is working His wonders in the still moments of our souls. Let us be quiet like newborns, cradled by our Eternal Parent. He loves us; He knows what He is doing. Like Mary, let us just ponder these things, quietly.
PRAYER: No more agitation Lord, no more flailing. I will rest in you, in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
