Topic: “LOVE BECAME FLESH: TO BE OUR HIGH PRIEST AND ADVOCATE”
Text: : HEBREWS 4:14-16
Memory Verse: Hebrews 4: 14 “So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe.”
Jesus Christ came to the earth as the one who came to bear the sin of mankind he became our high priest, who advocates for mankind before God.
As our High Priest, He enters the presence of the heavenly Father to offer himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins (Hebrews 10:12). And as our advocate, He is before the Father pleading, mediating, and interceding on our behalf at the Throne of God.
The implication of Jesus as our High Priest is that once and for all, He offered the perfect sacrifice needed, because He was the perfect sacrifice, and you and I can enjoy God’s presence both now and forevermore. No sin or suffering, no disappointment or despair, makes this glorious reality any less true: that you have a priest, forever, and therefore you have a place with Him, forever.
Furthermore, He is interceding for us continually, so the assurance that Jesus is praying for us should give us confidence that no matter what comes our way, we shall overcome in His name. As you step out today, remember you are not alone, the great High Priest is watching over you, to provide the requirements to save and sanctify you and He is also talking to the Heavenly Father on your behalf.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank you for identifying with us and our High Priest, thank you for also standing in the gap for us before the Father, help us never to detach ourselves from you, help us to stay connected to you in Jesus’ name, Amen.
