Topic: “LOVE IN THE FLESH: RECONCILING MEN TO GOD”
Text: : ISAIAH 9:1-7
Memory Verse: : Isaiah 9: 6 “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
Christmas is a season of joy, peace and exchange of pleasantries. It is a time of gathering with families, friends and loved ones in celebration of the birth of our Savior. However, if we are not very careful, we will allow the busyness of the season and the emphasis on gifts to cloud our vision of what we are truly celebrating.
In our text for today, Isaiah shows us what Jesus came to do, and that is to carry out His ministry as the Prince of Peace. Jesus came to establish peace where peace was lacking. Where there was a broken relationship, Jesus came to reconnect and bring the whole family together.
Therefore, as believers, we ought to seek to reconcile with those who have hurt us, or said things that were not true about us, this season is the time to let go and let God, because the prince of peace has come to give us peace.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, we thank you for coming to bring peace into our lives. We do ask that we shall experience your peace in our homes, in our country and our relationships in Jesus’ name, Amen.
