DECEMBER 31: “LOVE REVEALED SO WE CAN LIVE THROUGH HIM”

Jesus said in John 15:5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” Again, Acts 17:28 says “‘For in him we live and move and have our being.” Jesus is the channel through which we become what God wants us to be. In our text today John said, “He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.”

The implication is that without Jesus coming in the flesh, making Himself accessible and identifying with us and we identifying with Him, we cannot live life to the fullness. When we allow Christ to live through us, we will be able to love like He loved us (1 John 4:11) When we allow Him to live through us, His spirit will operate in our lives (1 John 4:13) Finally, God makes His dwelling in us, If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. (1 John 4:15)

As you step out today, let your life be an extension of his grace, an extension of His glory and an extension of the God who so loved us to make His dwelling with us.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, we thank you that as unworthy as we are, you still loved us to make our lives your dwelling. We do ask today, that you would help us to be an extension of your love to people around us in Jesus’ name, Amen.
