Topic:  “THE SIGNIFICANCE OF HIS RESURRECTION POWER – ETERNAL LIFE ”

Text: 1Corinthians 15:20-26

Memory Verse: “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” – Romans 6:23 (NKJV).

The resurrection of Jesus showcased His victory over death. In Acts 2:24, Apostle Peter spoke very aptly about this when he declared to the crowd that: “But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him”.

Furthermore, while on the Island of Patmos, Apostle John had a unique personal encounter with the Lord Jesus as He further revealed Himself thus: “I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades” (Rev 1:18).

Jesus is the Author of Life, and only Him has the capacity to bestow life in all its ramifications. Indeed, His death on the Cross was not because the people that crucified Him were more powerful than Him, but because he had voluntarily laid down His life, knowing fully well He was going to take it back (John 10:18).

Death came into the world as a result of Adam’s sin, and all men thereby carried the sinful nature in them with the attendant consequences. Jesus went the whole hog in order to bring an end to the eternal consequences of sin. (Jn 3:16-18)

Today, we can share in the fulness of life that He offers, because He has defeated the enemy through the power of His resurrection. This offer instills in us God’s kind of life, and is profitable for now and throughout eternity (Jn 10:10, 11:25)

Are you still burdened with the issues of life and afraid of the enemy’s onslaughts? Jesus has paid it all and is ready to receive you with His outstretched arms and warm embrace. Run to Him!

PRAYER: Lord, I am grateful that you paid the price I could not afford for the consequences of my sins. May my life continually be an expression of your divine sacrifice and love, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
