AUGUST  11, 2025

Topic:  “OUTCOMES OF INTIMACY IN THE CHURCH – PRAYERS II“

Text:1 John 5:14-15

Memory Verse: “The LORD detests the way of the wicked, but the prayer of the upright pleases Him. Proverbs 15:8

Praying together in the Church offers numerous spiritual benefits, including increased faith, a stronger sense of community, and greater unity among believers. It also allows for collective prayer, where the combined faith of many can be a powerful force for change. “After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.” Acts 4:31

Outcomes of prayer driven by intimacy are:

  1. Prayer helps us to discern God’s guidance and seek His wisdom.
  2. Praying for others and with others strengthens bonds within the Church. It cultivates unity and love as believers are united in their shared faith and purpose.
  3. Intimacy with God leads to a change in one’s character and a greater capacity for love and service.
  4. Prayer provides a source of comfort, hope, and strength during challenging times.
  5. Prayer can help solidify faith and conviction, leading to a greater assurance in God’s power and presence.
  6. Prayer allows us to encounter God’s power and presence, leading to a more profound and transformative experience.

Ideas of how to cultivate the outcome of intimacy through prayer:

  1. Pray Regularly
  2. Pray with scripture
  3. Pray for others
  4. Seek God’s guidance in all areas of life.
  5. Be patient and persistent
  6. Practice active listening

As we pray together as a congregation, God will begin to “show up” more and more.

PRAYER: Dear God, help us to focus on seeking a deeper relationship, experiencing your presence, and allowing you to transform our hearts and lives in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
