Topic: “GOD’S THOUGHTS CORRECT AND RESTORE (1)“
Text: Isaiah 55:6-8.
Memory Verse: “I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more. Isaiah 43:25.
It is to our advantage if we submit to God’s restoring work with humility and hope. It is interesting that God does not condemn us; condemnation is the work of the devil to bring us to punishment. God convicts us through His Spirit to remind us of our sins to bring us to light in order to correct it. He seeks to deliver us from the guilts of our past by showering us with grace and moving us towards His promise of tomorrow. His thoughts and plans are for us to spend eternity with Him in heaven.
This is what the Lord says in Isaiah 43:1, “he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine”.
Since we belong to God, He convicts us to correct and restore us. For you to benefit from this promise, God is saying through Prophet Isaiah in today’s text, “Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, and He will have mercy on him.” – Isaiah 55:7.
Our thoughts need a reset sometimes. God’s thoughts confront our sin but also offer mercy and restoration. When we turn to Him, He does not condemn, He heals. His thoughts reconcile and call us back to life. We are never too far gone, God’s thoughts are redemptive, not condemning. To this effect, I thank God for giving us victory through the reconciliation ministry our Lord Jesus Christ.
If the Holy Spirit is convicting you of any sin right now, do not hesitate or harden your heart, call upon Jesus and ask him to forgive you, and you will be forgiven.
PRAYER: Lord, correct my thoughts where they have gone wrong. Thank You for Your mercy and the chance to start again, Amen.
