Topic: “IN THE FULLNESS OF TIME, THE STAGE WAS SET“
Text: Galatians 4:1-5; Ecclesiastes 3:1
Memory Verse: “But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons” Galatians 4:4-5.
An elderly Nigerian pastor made an observation some years ago, he said the elderly members do not walk fast, yet they do not come late to church unlike several younger worshippers. This he said in relation to God’s attribute, He is ageless, and His timing is never late. Everything has time and timing is everything (Ecclesiastes 3:1).
A careful survey of the political, cultural, and spiritual states of the world in which Jesus was born, raised and fulfilled prophecy shows that Jesus did not come early or late, He came in the fullness of time. The Roman Empire had united and ruled much of the known world, roads and trade routes had opened to facilitates easy travels across borders, and there was a universal language (Greek) with which to communicate the gospel. Spiritually, Israel was longing for a Messiah more than ever. All these helped to spread the gospel very fast through a vast land.
God was behind the scenes of world history, setting the stage for the most important act in the human story: the Incarnation. Your life, too, is not left to chance. Even when things seem delayed, God is preparing a “fullness of time” moment, a Kairos moment. The same wisdom and care that guided Christ’s entrance into the world is working in your life today. Think of a season when God came through for you, not when you expected, but just in time.
PRAYER: Father, thank You for Your perfect timing. Help me to surrender my anxious fears and worries. Help me to wait in faith, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
