Topic: “PROPHETS SPOKE OF THE COMING KING “
Text: Isaiah 9:6-7; Micah 5:2
Memory Verse: “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, From everlasting” Micah 5:2.
Openly and clearly, the prophets foretold the Incarnation, it was not a secret agenda or surprise. His birth, His character, His mission, and even His rejection and suffering were accurately described by the prophets who served as God’s mouthpieces, proclaiming a coming Deliverer. God reechoed His plan in various prophecies until its fulfillment.
To Isaiah, God gave a vision of a Child born and a Son given who would carry divine authority and establish an unending kingdom. To Micah, details of His birthplace as Bethlehem and a description of His eternal nature was given. All these prophecies in parts and pieces (1 Corinthians 13:9-12) were all fulfilled by Jesus with astonishing accuracy, confirming that God keeps His Word.
Redemption was not reactive, rushed or random. It was a proactive and precise plan, patiently processed until the fullness of time, and powerfully executed. The same God who fulfilled His Word in Christ’s first coming will fulfill every promise regarding His second coming. He is a God who speaks and does, so you can be sure He will fulfill all His promises to you too.
PRAYER: Lord, thank You for the faithfulness of Your Word. Thank You for speaking through the prophets and for fulfilling every promise in Christ. Help me to trust in Your Word, even when the waiting feels long. I believe You are a Promise Keeper, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
