Topic: “LIVING ALIGNED DAILY“
Text: Galatians 3:6–9
Memory Verse: “So those who rely on faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.” Gal. 3:9
Little Billy, who was acting terribly one day, was asked by his mother, “How do you expect to get into heaven?” He thought for a moment and then said, “Well, I’ll just run in and out and keep slamming the door until they say, ‘For heaven’s sake, either come in or stay out’. Then I’ll go in.” Entering heaven will not be that easy; it will require a life of faith and a life that is in alignment with the will and purpose of God.
As we have been learning in the past few days about the life of Abraham, one thing that stands out is his life of total surrender to God and a life of complete obedience to God. He did not just enter into the blessings of the promises that God made to him; he aligned his life to them. He was consistent, faithful, and committed to God. A man’s righteousness can only be attained through continual trust and obedience in Christ as his Lord and Savior. Towards the later part of his life, Abraham did exhibit a kind of faith that is likened to the Christian faith when he believed in God, who is able to raise the dead (see Hebrews 11:19).
As we step out today, God is demanding from us a life of consistent faith. An unquestionable obedience and a commitment that is deep and strong. We must remember that we are to walk in Abraham’s footsteps by faith, not by works.
PRAYER: Our Father, we come before you today with humility. We do ask for grace to be consistent in our walk with you and strength to stand strong in the face of challenges. Like Abraham, who started well and ended well, may this be our testimony in Jesus’ name, Amen.
