APRIL 3: THE LORD’S PRESENCE – RESULT OF WALKING IN STEP WITH GOD

DATE: Friday 3 April  2026
TOPIC:  “THE LORD’S PRESENCE – RESULT OF WALKING IN STEP WITH GOD”
TEXT: Genesis 39: 1 – 6

MEMORY VERSE: “And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian” – Genesis 39:2

Challenges and trials on the journey toward God’s promise may strip you of many things—positions, possessions, comfort and even time. However, one thing they cannot take from you if you continue walking in obedience, is the divine content God has placed within you. Joseph lost his earthly father’s gift—the coat of many colours—but he could never lose his Heavenly Father’s gift: the abiding presence of God.

Even as a slave in a foreign land, far from the comfort and familiarity he once knew, Scripture makes a profound declaration: “The LORD was with Joseph”; and because the Lord was with him, Joseph was described as prosperous.

A prosperous slave? It sounds contradictory. Yet this reveals something essential about God’s definition of prosperity. True prosperity is not measured by what we own or the comfort we enjoy (Luke 12:15). It is measured by the presence of God at work within us.

Today, take a step of obedience and continue to walk in righteousness—even in the hostile environment you may find yourself in. No matter how unfairly you are treated or how difficult the season feels, nothing and no one, can take away what God has deposited in you. You carry His presence. Emmanuel—God with us—is your constant reality and that truth alone changes everything. Remember He promises to be with you in the fire and the flood. (Isaiah 43:2)

Therefore, rejoice and be exceedingly glad.

PRAYER: Lord, thank you for the unspeakable gifts we have. The gift of salvation has deposited in us, matchless grace and the abiding presence of God. Grant me more insight on this, so that I will know that this is true prosperity, Amen.
