Topic: THE WONDER WORKING CREATOR
Text: PSALM 107: 24-43
Memory Verse:PSALM 107:43 – “Let the one who is wise heed these things and ponder the loving deeds of the Lord”.
The Psalmist accounts for the Wonder Working God at work in creation as He displayed His power. In this 107th Psalm, the author expounded the manifold ways that God deploys the works of His creation to bless and nourish humans (vs 35-38). It displays clearly how the same works of God’s creation can be used too in a way to punish man for his sins (vs 33-34).
All creations are at the beck and call of God, and they respond according to His instant instruction. We must align with God so we can enjoy dominion and the blessings of creation. Man was created as the custodian of the works of God. He was commanded to dominate and rule over it before the fall (Gen. 1:26-30).
The Psalmist encouraged worship of the Creator as a mark of appreciation for His wonderful works. Worship accesses the heart of God. We must bow in adoration when we see or consider the creative works beautifully and systematically crafted by the One who owns them all. It is wisdom to consider the magnitude of these wonders packed into creation as God’s artwork and handiwork; but it is foolishness to believe that they just exist or to believe that there is nobody behind their fashioning or making. Psalm 14:1 says, “The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” (NIV)
Little Wonder, Carl Boberg, author of the inspiring hymn, “Oh Lord my God” said, “when He saw the awesome works of creation”, he decided to bow in humble adoration.
Prayer: Lord, I bow in humble adoration of your Holy name. I acknowledge You as my Owner and the Author of Creation. I praise you for your manifold wisdom and working wonders in them all.
