Topic: THE WIND AND THE SEA OBEY HIM II
Text: MARK 4:35-41
Memory Verse:Exodus 10:19 – “And the Lord changed the wind to a very strong west wind, which caught up the locusts and carried them into the Red Sea. Not a locust was left anywhere in Egypt”.
One of the symbols of authority is the power to control. The God of creations has demonstrated this to us in the scriptures time and time again. He is in absolute control of all that he has made and deploys them in the direction He so desires especially, to fulfil His ultimate purpose.
Exodus 10:18-19 says- “Moses then left Pharaoh and prayed to the Lord. And the Lord changed the wind to a very strong west wind, which caught up the locusts and carried them into the Red Sea. Not a locust was left anywhere in Egypt”. In this passage, God used the wind positively as an answer to Moses’ prayer and to solve the problem in Egypt. The same happened in Exo. 14:21 when the Lord sent the wind to part the Red Sea. God can control the natural creation in ways that is beyond the imaginations of man to demonstrate His power and Ownership over them. The Lord had commanded the wind to disturb the sea because of Jonah to get his attention for repentance according to Jonah 1:4. Jonah alone got the message even when his fellow travellers did not.
God deploys nature in supernatural ways to communicate or deliver blessings or fulfil His purpose. We who have been created in His image enjoy the privilege of exercising similar controls in His name when we act in faith and obedience to Him. We should also be sensitive to listen when He communicates through nature to us. His ultimate purpose is to use His power over creation to bless us when we align with His will.
PRAYER: Lord, please command all the forces of nature and creation for my blessings today in Jesus mighty name.
