Topic: CORRUPTION IN CREATION
Text: GEN. 6:1-8
Memory Verse: Gen 6:6 – “The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled
And God saw everything that He had made, and it was very good”(Gen. 1:31) …this is how the Maker of the Heaven and earth evaluated all creation at the beginning, but somewhere in the course of time, in Gen 6:6-8, “The Lord was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain. So, the Lord said, “I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth — men and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air — for I am grieved that I have made them.”
The question is “what went wrong?” Where did this corruption come from? How did it happen?
Jesus gave us an insight in the parable of the wheat and weeds. He said when men slept, the enemy came and sowed tares (weeds) and when the seeds (original creation of the farmer) began to grow, the work of the enemy appeared as the weeds.
God made everything perfect. God made everything beautiful. The enemy, who is the devil does the exact opposite. It is not correct to think that evil or corruption comes from God. It was never His creation. The corruption in creation was a sabotage to perverse the good work of God and to make God sad. If you experience anything contrary to the good and beautiful work of God in creation, it is only traceable to the devil-the Chief corrupter of creation.
Here is the good news, the Maker of all things is still in control, to correct every wrong brought in by the corrupter and restore the original intent of creation.
He did it before and He can do it again and again.
He can remove the corrupted creation just as He did in the days of Noah and recreate another, or he can perfect His created work by removing the corruption from it. It is important that we surrender any area we have experienced corruption to Him for His intervention and correction. He is able.
PRAYER: Father I surrender every area of my life to you for your correction and intervention. You are my Lord and creator, step into my affairs right now in Jesus’ name.
