SEPTEMBER 01: Experiencing the fullness of God through Christ

Certain things in life must come in full. No one buys a tin of milk that is half-full. In our day-to-day experience, we all want full things. The same thing is expected in our salvation experience, God chose to give the full package of Himself to us. That is why Paul said in Col. 2:10, “… and in Christ, you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority.” As we came into Christ through salvation, the Lord brought us into the fullness of Himself. That Fullness stands for the richness or completeness that is in God. The fullness of God is the totality of everything God is—His attributes, His character, His perfection, His holiness, His power, His love, et cetera. The fullness of God is His complete nature.
What a privilege we have that in Christ, God has deposited His full grace and glory into our lives. This places a demand upon us. That as carries of the fullness of God you cannot live recklessly. We must live in such a way that when people see us or hear us as Paul did for the Ephesian brethren, he said “For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith…” it will spur them to pray and give thanks to God on our behalf.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, as we journey in life, may you continue to find us worthy to be the recipients of your fullness and may you continue to be pleased with our lives as you bestow upon us your “fullness,” even fullness that only you can produce.
