August 31: “THE SHIELD WITHIN”

It is easy to be frightened by the wickedness we see all around us and overwhelmed by the problems we face. The devil and all his forces are obviously stronger than we are (naturally). However, John reminds and assures us that God is ever stronger than the devil and all his forces put together. More heart warming is the fact that this God lives in us and so we are shielded from within. He protects us from all external powers and all such things that want to infiltrate our lives and get us off this secure position that we are standing on. The Spirit and word of God live in our hearts because of our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, so we are more than victorious,

One strategy of Satan against us is to send false teachers who teach doctrines that are at variance with the truth of God’s word. These false teachers could come in disguised form and present doctrines and philosophies that look humanly attractive and easily acceptable. This is why John recommends that we must develop ourselves in the knowledge of the truth to the level where we are able to recognize every falsehood in what they teach and firmly resist them – John 8:32.

As you develop your relationship with the Lord through the Holy Spirit, you give Him the latitude to combat every falsehood that the devil may present to you and be protected from being deceived and misled by the spirit of error. In this meditation, God is reminding you to make the most of your redemptive blessing by strengthening your communion with the Him and giving no room to fear and ignorance. Because you are born of God and belong to Him, He has put His Spirit in you as a manifestation and stamp of His authority and power in you, so be not frightened by anything the devil throws at you.

Prayer: Use the power deposited in you to deal with every negative force invading your life at this time. Declare your victory confidently in Jesus’ name.
