TOPIC: “TRUSTING GOD’S TIMING IN THE WAITING SEASON”
TEXT: Genesis 41: 1 – 13
MEMORY VERSE: “Now it happened at the end of two full years that Pharaoh dreamed that he was standing by the Nile” – Genesis 41:1
Two full years passed between the restoration of the cupbearer and the moment Pharaoh had a dream. Two silent years. Two years in which nothing seemed to change outwardly for Joseph. Yet these two years were not wasted—they were part of God’s perfect timing in bringing Joseph into the fullness of his destiny.
Waiting can be one of the hardest parts of walking with God. Impatience often tempts us to become frustrated with God or to seek shortcuts to force the fulfilment of His promises. However, human shortcuts never produce divine results; they only create complications. God’s timing is always perfect and His process is always purposeful.
Hebrews 6:12 encourages us to “imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” Faith believes God; patience waits for God. Patience is not passive resignation—it is a fruit of the Spirit that steadies the heart, anchors the soul and keeps us aligned with God’s pace.
Beloved, God’s thoughts toward you are good. We established this on the first day of the month: His plans are to give you an expected end. If His intentions for you are good, then His timing for you is also good. Trusting His timing is part of trusting His heart.
As you step into today, remember that God is not slow concerning His promise. Joshua testified, “Not one word of all the good promises that the LORD had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass.” (Joshua 21:45). God has never failed—and He will not start now.
Your waiting is not a delay; it is preparation. Trust His timing.
PRAYER: Lord, add to my faith patience. Help me to trust in Your timing and not take rash decisions in my period of waiting, Amen.
