Topic: “THE CURSED BLESSING”
Text: Malachi 2:2 KJV
Memory Verse: Mal. 2:2 “If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart”.
The Lord did not mince words when He Himself said He will curse the blessings of His own people because they refused to keep His commandments over them to obey them all. I do not want to imagine what a cursed blessing is, but it is clear that I want to avoid it at all costs.
Often, we feel that God overlooks our disobedience and ‘in-obedience’, but the principles of the Kingdom cannot be watered down or tampered with. God wants us to hold all He says to us in our hearts, but if we trivialize it, there are grave consequences. This suggests that there are people on earth who have been blessed of the Lord actually, but as they celebrate the blessing, little do they know that their blessing has been cursed! The Lord indeed has to help us so we do not carry a blessing that is already cursed in this life!
PRAYER: Lord Jesus, by your help, I choose to walk in the path of blessings, not of curses.
