TOPIC: “FRUIT OF DIVINE ALIGNMENT: RESTORATION”
TEXT: Ruth 4:13-15; Joel 2:12-30 & 25-27
MEMORY VERSE: “May he restore your youth and care for you in old age. For he is the son of your daughter-in-law who loves you and has been better to you than seven sons” – Ruth 4:15.
Turn to me now”, we heard The LORD say, and “I will restore to you the years…lost” (Joel 2:12&25). The promises of divine restoration are replete in scriptures, either from tragic situations like Ruth and Naomi, or health issues (Jer. 30:17). God does this, first because of His name and second because by aligning with His will, shame and disgrace which the enemy meant for us will never happen (Joel 2:26-27).
Dear believer, are you forlorn, tossed to and fro by the vicissitudes of life? Are you downcast in your soul by a tragic loss and feeling as if “it is over”! Remember, the one who restores the soul (Ps. 23:3) and the joy of salvation (Ps. 51:12) is here – Jesus. The Messiah will turn your mourning to dancing and give you beauty instead of ashes (Ps. 30:11; Isa. 61:3)
Our God worked out His purpose in the lives of these two phenomenal women in what began with sorrow and ended in praise; recorded in the Canon of Scriptures such that the earth be full of the knowledge of The LORD (Is. 11:9) and recorded in the words of the hymn by A.C. Ainger (1841-1919).
God is working His purpose out
as year succeeds to year………
when the earth shall be filled
with the glory of God as the
waters cover the sea
PRAYER: Restore me to health, to joy and to peace and help me know that You neither sleep nor slumber, working out Your purpose, so that my soul can be at rest, Amen.
