TOPIC: “HIDING THE TRUTH TO AVOID CONSEQUENCES”
TEXT: Proverbs 28:13
MEMORY VERSE: “Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.” – Proverbs 28:13
Many people hide the truth because they fear consequences. We cover mistakes, deny wrongdoing, or pretend nothing happened. However, hiding truth does not heal anything, it only delays freedom.
Truth is liberating. Jesus said the truth sets us free. When we refuse truth, we often remain trapped in guilt, fear and unrest.
Scripture gives many examples of people who tried to hide wrongdoing, only to face deeper consequences later. Sin concealed grows heavier. Sin confessed loses its grip.
God does not call us to hide. He calls us to come into the light.
1 John 1:9 gives a beautiful promise: if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Confession is not weakness. It is courage. It is the doorway to healing, restoration, and growth.
Today’s Reflection:
Is there something you have been hiding from God, yourself, or someone else?
Today’s Action:
Be honest with God today, name it plainly and ask for His help.
PRAYER: Lord, give me courage to face the truth. Remove every desire to hide behind excuses. Thank You for mercy, forgiveness and restoration, Amen.
