AUGUST 21: “LETTING FEAR PUSH YOU INTO LYING”

DATE: Friday 21 August  2026

TOPIC:  “LETTING FEAR PUSH YOU INTO LYING”

TEXT: Romans 6:11; Galatians 2:20; Colossians 1:27

MEMORY VERSE:  “Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord” – Romans 6:11

Fear has a way of pushing people into wrong choices. Fear of rejection, punishment, embarrassment, loss, or disapproval can tempt us to lie, hide, or compromise.

Fear first appeared after sin entered the garden. Adam hid from God because he was afraid. Fear often causes people to withdraw, conceal truth and act against their values.

However, through Jesus Christ, a new way has been made available.

You are no longer ruled by fear. Christ lives in you. His presence gives courage, wisdom and strength. Where fear says, “Protect yourself,” faith says, “Trust God.”

When fear tries to push you into dishonesty, pause and remember who you are. You belong to God. You do not need to be controlled by panic or pressured into falsehood. Colossians 1:27

Truth spoken in faith brings freedom. Lies spoken in fear bring bondage.

Isaiah 41:10 reminds us: “Do not fear, for I am with you.”

Today’s Reflection:
What fear most often tempts you to hide or lie?

Today’s Action:
When fear rises today, pause and remember who you are.

PRAYER: Lord, free me from fear-driven choices. Help me to trust Your presence and carry my cross daily. Give me courage to speak the truth and walk in peace, Amen.
