TOPIC: “COMPARISON, THE KILLER OF PURPOSE”
TEXT: 2 Corinthians 10:12
MEMORY VERSE: “But they are only comparing themselves with each other, using themselves as the standard of measurement. How ignorant” – 2 Corinthians 10:12b
Comparison is subtle. It often sounds like ordinary thoughts:
“They are doing better than I am.”
“She speaks better than I do.”
“Why don’t I look like them?”
“Why is my life harder?”
However, comparison quietly steals joy and distracts purpose.
When you constantly measure your life against others, gratitude fades. You stop noticing what God has given you. You may chase someone else’s path while neglecting your own calling.
God created you uniquely and intentionally. Psalm 139 says you are wonderfully made. Ephesians 2:10 says you are God’s workmanship, created for good works prepared for you.
You have your own assignment, timing, journey and grace.
Someone else’s progress does not cancel your future.
Today’s Reflection:
Whose life are you measuring yourself against?
Today’s Action:
Replace comparison today with gratitude. Write down three gifts God has given you and thank Him.
PRAYER: Lord, anchor me in who You created me to be. Free me from comparison and help me run my own race with joy, peace and purpose, Amen.
