GOD’S WILL”
Text: 1 John 2:15 – 17
Memory Verse: Romans 12:2 – “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God”.
Growing up as an adolescent, today’s text was a common phrase from my father’s lips – “Love not the world…..” We live in the world, but we are not of the world. That is, we do not operate according to the principles of the world system. The world system says “me first”. God’s will says, “Jesus first, myself last and others in between”.
First, God’s will is that we receive the gift of eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23). Thereafter, as we continue in prayer, the study of the Word and in fellowship with other believers, we come to understand God’s will for our individual lives. May we always be found in the centre of God’s will, allowing others to see and experience the God that we profess and serve.
