Topic: “THE SPIRIT OF GOD”
Text: JOHN 14:15-17, 26-27
Memory Verse: ““the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you” – John 14:17.
The Spirit of God is a Person. The third Person of the Godhead. If Jesus Christ is God and His love letter to humanity, then the Holy Spirit is His love token to us. The Holy Spirit is the down payment, the insurance of our eternity with God. How do we experience the Holy Spirit in our daily lives? Is He a fire to consume our enemies or a diminished figure to be sent on errands? Beloved, may we never forget that the Holy Spirit is God. ALL POWERFUL, ALL KNOWING, EVER PRESENT EVERYWHERE. Yet, mystery of mysteries, He has made His home in us.
So, how do we relate with the Holy Spirit? Jesus said the Holy Spirit would lead us into all truth and walk beside us. Are we listening to Him, allowing Him guide us? Beloved, having a precious gift we do not make use of, is not wise, is it? The Spirt yearns to comfort, enlighten and ultimately transform us today.
Let us take advantage of this precious love token from our Heavenly Father. God with us, working within us.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, help me to remember that you have placed your very Self within me, the Presence and Power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you in Jesus’ name, Amen.
