Topic: “LOVE BECAME FLESH: TO REVEAL THE FATHER”
Text: JOHN 17:25-26
Memory Verse: John 17:25-26- “O righteous Father, the world doesn’t know you, but I do, and these disciples know you sent me. I have revealed you to them, and I will continue to do so. Then your love for me will be in them, and I will be in them.”
The Father who is our redeemer loves to reveal Himself to us so we can know Him. God’s revelation of himself to us is one of the ways he loves us. It is the door that opens our friendship with him. He reveals aspects of himself in creation, makes himself known in the Word and then sends his Son to provide a perfect image so we know what he is like.
In our text today, Jesus told His disciples “I have revealed you to them, and I will continue to do so”. The question then is, what is the benefit of this revelation to the disciples? It is that the love of the father will be in them. This means the grace of God, the righteousness of God, the holiness of God, and the mind of God were all transferred as the love of God is revealed through Jesus Christ. Therefore, as we step out today and continue to meditate on the life of Jesus Christ, the nature of God becomes revealed in us.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, we thank you for revealing yourself to us through Jesus Christ, help us oh Lord to become more and more like you as we live our lives here on earth daily in Jesus’ name, Amen.
