DECEMBER  28, 2025

Topic:  “HOPE OF CHRISTMAS: A FUTURE WITH GOD “

Text: Jeremiah 29:11, John 14:1-4

Memory Verse:  “

For I know the thoughts I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” – Jeremiah 29:11.

Jeremiah 29:11 offers to us, a wonderful promise in these words; “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”. This verse puts into perspective, the essence of Christmas hope, pointing to a future with God!

Christians celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ, the personification of God’s promise to mankind. Through the birth of our Lord, we have:

  1. Hope of salvation
  2. Promise of guidance and
  3. Assurance of prosperity
  • Hope of salvation – his birth (Christmas) marks the beginning of mankind’s redemption and offer of eternal life (John 3:16).
  • Promise of guidance – Ps 32:8 Christmas equally unfolds God’s plan for us which includes guidance and direction.
  • Assurance of prosperity – God’s prosperity encompasses all round growth, peace of mind and inner joy and not just material wealth – Ps 35:27.

As we celebrate Christmas, let us reflect on the hope and the promise that it brings. By embracing the hope of Christmas, we can experience joy, peace, love and assurance that come from knowing this God who loves us!

PRAYER: Sovereign God, as we celebrate Christmas, may we meditate on the hope and promises it brings. May we embrace God’s sovereignty; follow Jesus by walking in His footsteps and share the message of Christmas hope, love and salvation with others in Jesus’ wonderful name, Amen.
