Topic: PEACE IN THE MIDST OF CHAOS

Text: Philippians 4:4-7

Memory Verse: “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” – Phil. 4:7

Job was described as blameless, righteous and a man that always prayed for his household. With all of the good testimonies and virtues ascribed to a mortal man like us, there came a day that the “can of chaos” was opened towards him and his household. He lost all his children within 24 hours. His blooming business ended same day that he lost his children. Everything positive around him ended within 24 hours.

He was also attacked with a terrible and strange sickness that caused him severe pain and agony. Job became a man of sorrow to the point that his wife counseled him to curse God and die. Mrs. Job felt death was a better option for him. No wonder Job said in Job 14:1 that “Man, who is born of a woman, Is short-lived and full of turmoil”

Life is full of challenges which is common to all regardless of one’s status (rich or poor), believer or unbeliever; sex, tribe, color and age. Jesus told a story of two men builders: one built on the rock and the other on sand. What was common to both builders was the storm (Mathew 7:24-27). From conception to death, human beings are destined to strive. Scientists claim that striving for man begins from conception. In other words, for conception to take place, millions of sperm cells jostle to fertilize the ova. The fastest ovum makes the fetus. Also, the book of Job affirms that troubles don’t fall from the sky, but man is born to face life challenges. (Job 5:6-7; 14:1). However, as indispensable life challenges can be, the presence of God in a man’s life makes the difference. It is most important and indisputable in the life of every mortal, especially a believer in Christ (Mathew 16:33).

Beloved, are you in the midst of life chaos and you are contemplating suicide? Are you at the point of giving up on following Jesus? You do not have to take your life because your night is over, the day has come and His glory has risen upon you. All you need do is to call upon Him for help and begin to  fellowship with Him. His Presence is what you need and it will no longer be you struggling. When He comes, every situation turns around for good. Do you want to come to Him today? Let us pray.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, grant me your peace and come and dwell in my heart.
