Topic: THE REFLECTION OF HIS GLORY
Text: Exodus 34:29-35
Memory Verse: “When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands, he was not aware that his face was
radiant because he had spoken with the Lord. When Aaron and all the Israelites saw Moses, his face was radiant, and they were afraid to come
near him” Exodus 34:20-30
The glory of God can never be captured fully in words as our knowledge is finite and we only know in part. Any attempt to describe it will not be encompassing. The glory of God is His attributes that he reveals or displays to His children. The splendour of His presence, the awesomeness of His power and majesty can be referred to as His glory. The Presence of God commands His glory. It is only those who know God and abide in Him that can reflect His glory.
In the presence of God lie blessings, glory, power, strength, wealth, Joy, honour and dignity etc. According to the above passage, Moses’ experience in God’s presence was a transforming one. God’s holy presence was so radiant that it caused Moses’ face to shine. The physical glow on his face was a result of drawing close to God and this experience gave Moses’ the faith and courage he needed to continue to lead the Israelites through the wilderness. Drawing close to God will provide us with the strength we need to make it through our wilderness experience.
Moses was on the mount having intimate communion with God without interruption for forty days and forty nights. Can you imagine forty days and forty nights of no food and water? This is the beauty and joy of being in the presence of God. What a rare experience! He came down from the mountain enriched with the best treasure (blessings) for he brought with his hands, two tablets of the law written with the finger of God (Exodus 34:28-29). It is honourable to be a vessel that delivers God’s message to others. This honour was done to Moses. Moses’ interaction and fellowship with God led him to another dimension spiritually because the nature and glory of God fell on him. None of his followers dared to look at his face thereafter.
Beloved, there is no other place to be equipped for effective Christian life than the presence of God. Those who have come to know this truth do not joke with it. They cancel meetings and other engagements that will not allow them to dwell in His presence. They always seek the opportunity to be in fellowship with Him. The more you dwell in His presence, the more grace and authority your life commands and manifests. As you behold the beauty in His presence, the more of His beauty you also will manifest. May the Lord help you to be a man of HIS PRESENCE.
Prayer: Lord, help me not to trade my relationship with you for anything, no matter what the case may be in Jesus’ name. I receive grace to shine and reflect the glory of God without limitations in Jesus’ name.
