Topic: SURE SAFETY
Text: Psalms 91:9
Memory Verse: Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation” Ps 91:9
Psalm 91 is a popular chapter of the bible. Many people can recite it offhand because of the assurance of divine protection in it. It is generally believed that this chapter of the Psalm has promises of comfort and protection though it is subjective to every individual.
There are bundles of blessing sin God’s dwelling place with an assurance of protection for those who dwell in His presence, because in His presence, there is unwavering protection and peace that believers can find when they seek refuge in Him. David the King identified many dangers that confront us everyday and everywhere as we move about; they are snares of the fowler, noisome pestilence, the terror by night, deadly arrow that flies by day, the pestilence that walk sin darkness and destruction that wastes at noonday. He also mentioned that thousands shall fall at thy side and ten thousand at thy right hand but it
shall not come nigh thee.
There is a question to ask and that is “why will my life be so immuned or protected that all evil mentioned above will not come near me?” Is it because I am a super human? Verse 9 has the answer: “Because you have made the LORD, [who is] my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place” Beloved, there are many blessing sin being a man of His Presence, a man that dwell sin the presence of God. There is maximum safety, deliverance from all kinds of evil and assurance of lifting up above all circumstances. It is obvious from verse 9 that you have a role play if you want to enjoy this blessing of safety and deliverance. The role you must play is that you have to make a decision to make His Presence your dwelling place. “He who dwell sin the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.” Where do you dwell? Are you a Christian that tarries for 5 hours watching movies but cannot tarry for 20 minutes in the study of God’s word and in prayer? The Lord is calling you to change your dwelling place because this world is plagued with so many uncertainties and challenges. May the Lord help you to take the necessary step in Jesus’ name.
Prayer: Lord, I choose to make your PRESENCE my dwelling place. Help me to be consistent with this decision in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
