Topic: : GOD’S PRESENCE BRINGS DELIVERANCE
Text: Daniel 3: 12 – 26
Memory Verse: “ Look! he answered, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the son of God” Daniel 3: 25
Daniel’s friends, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego refused to worship the image that King Nebuchadnezzar had made because it was contrary to the laws of the Lord given to Israel. As a result of this, the King commanded that they be thrown bound into the fiery burning furnace which was heated seven times more than usual.
They had professed that their God, Jehovah, was able to able to save them, however, knowing that the Lord may have other plans for them and choose not to save them from the fire, they had declared that even if he does not save them, they were not ready to disobey God in order to save their lives.
However, the ever-faithful Jehovah showed up for them right there in fiery furnace while they were bound but the King Nebuchadnezzar saw them loosed walking around in the fire.
The King saw four men in the fire instead of three that were cast into the fire. He testified that the fourth man looked like the Son of God.
The fire did not burn them, not even their clothes were burnt because the Lord God came and brought deliverance to them. God’s presence in the fire nullified the power of the fire over them.
The King then called them to come out of the fire; he subsequently promoted them and declared that anybody that spoke against their God would be killed. The presence of the Lord brought deliverance to these three Hebrew children, also honor to the Lord.
As we serve the Lord, let us be true to his word and he will show up for us because he is always faithful.
Prayer: O Lord, help me to be faithful to you even if it hurts me or my life is threatened.
