Topic: GOD’S PRESENCE LEADS TO WILLINGNESS TO SERVE HIM

Text: Isaiah 6: 1 – 8

Memory Verse: “ Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall
I send, and who will go for us? Then I said, here I am! Send me” Isaiah6:8

As we studied a few days ago, the presence of the Lord brings conviction of sins because in the light of the holiness of the Lord, our sinfulness is clearly visible for everyone including ourselves to see. Thus, when Isaiah the prophet saw the Lord high
and lifted up, his sinfulness and uncleanness were very clear to him and he cried “woe is me for I am undone for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of people of unclean lips” Isaiah 6:5

However, when we realize our sin and confess it, the Lord readily forgives and
cleanses us as we see done to the prophet in verses 6-7 “And he touched my mouth with it, and said “ Behold, this has touched your lips, your iniquity is taken away and your sins purged” Isaiah 6:7

Having been cleansed and being in the presence of the Lord, he heard the cry “who will go for us?” He being prompted by his new status of being cleansed in the presence of God responded “here am I, send me” Isaiah 6:8

The glory of the presence of the Lord caused the prophet to see his true state of sinfulness and having confessed, he was cleansed, making him a vessel ready for the Master’s use and he knowing he had been prepared for service by the Master responded willingly, Here am I, send me.

When we dwell in the presence of the Lord, he prepares us for his use by cleansing and purging us of all iniquity. We should, therefore, respond like the prophet ‘Here am I, use me.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I ask for your cleansing in the name of Jesus. I offer myself for service wherever you lead me.
