Topic: “BUILDING INTIMACY THROUGH THE WORD: GOD HAS SOMETHING TO SAY ”
Text: Isaiah 43:1-8
Memory Verse: Isaiah 43:1a “But now, this is what the Lord says”.
God has something to say at all times and in all circumstances. Knowing this truth is what helps us to become more intimate with God in prayer. There can never be intimacy where there is no expectation. It is the expectation of what God will say to us through His Word that draws us deeper and closer to Him in prayer.
“I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what He will say to me….” (Habakkuk 2:1)
Therefore, in the midst of the current uncertainty, chaos, fear, grief, worry and anxiety, God is still speaking through His word. The closer and intimate you are to His word, the more confident and bold you become to approach the throne of grace to receive grace and find mercy in time of need.
Thus, the Word of God is telling you that God formed and created you, He wants you to press into the Holy of Holies and tell Him everything that is going on in your life.
PRAYER: O Lord, calm me now into a quietness that heals and listens. Help me to be still. Open my wounded heart to the balm of your will even as I draw closer to you through your Word, Amen.
