Topic: “BUILDING INTIMACY THROUGH THE WORD.”
Text: Exodus 3:1-6
Memory Verse: Exodus 2:4 “So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said “Moses, Moses! “and he said “Here I am”.
If you ever desire to leave the fringes of a relationship with God, the place to start is to study the Word of God. Are you expecting a major shift in your life that will reconnect you to your God-given purpose, dream and vision again? Then, it is time to reconsider the place of the word of God in your life.
Recall that heaven and earth may pass away, but not a single jot of God’s word will pass away without being fulfilled. As you can see, it was an encounter with the word of God that gave Moses a new direction for life and purpose. It was not just the burning bush, but also the spoken word from God that gave clarity and meaning to his life.
From our text for today, Moses did some three things that helped him reconnect to purpose and destiny through intimacy with the Word of God:
He gave total and undivided attention to God. Intimacy is a product of total and undivided attention. So pay close attention to the Word of God.
He committed himself to a life of consecration. He removed his sandal. A consecrated life is key to intimacy with the Word of God.
He settled the question of his own identity. The understanding and knowledge of your identity will help you have a closer walk with the Word of God. This is because “in Him you live, move and have your being”.
PRAYER: O Lord, your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Give me grace to receive your truth in faith and love and give me strength to follow on the path You set before me through Jesus Christ my only way, Amen.
