Topic: “RELATING WITH GOD’S INSTRUCTION 2“
Text: Genesis 7:1-16
Memory Verse: “The animals going into the ark were male and female of every living thing, as God had commanded Noah…” – Genesis 7:16.
Following what we began to learn about Noah yesterday, in relation to his amazing posture towards the instruction God gave to Him regarding building an ark to save both him and his immediate family and other creatures, we want to look at two other characteristics or attributes of God that he knew which could have been responsible for His easily believing and accepting the word of God.
Secondly, Noah knew that the word of God could not fail since God himself cannot fail. God is all powerful, He has everything needed to accomplish whatever He says, and nothing is impossible with Him. Noah knew this full well because of His long-standing relationship with God and so He aligned himself with whatever the Lord told him and followed through until it came to pass.
You will see the reality of every instruction God gives to you this year if you would accept and align yourself with His instructions in faith. See Isa 40:8; 55:10-11; Psalm 138:1; Matt 5:18; 24:35; Luke 1:37.
Thirdly, Noah knew God to be trust-worthy, and that His plans for him were best. Until you know God this way, you will find it difficult to throw your life into His hands or completely accept that His plans for you are better than you can ever have for yourself. Due to your natural limitation, you can never have dreams and plans that are beyond the realm of the natural but, if you align with God and allow your plans and dreams to be subsumed in His plans, you will see how great a future He can make for you. See Jer 29:11; Prov 19:21; Luke 1 38; 2 Tim 1:12b. Let this steer you further to yearn for a deeper knowledge of God and of His ways, be encouraged by Jer 33:3.
PRAYER: Ask God again to deepen your desire to know Him deeper in order to help you align with Him and His word more readily, Amen.
