Topic: HIS PRESENCE – ASSURANCE OF HIS GLORY
Text: Exodus 33:15-23
Memory Verse: “Then Moses said, now show me your glory” Exo 33:18.
Moses wanted an assurance of God’s presence with him so he prayed for God to manifest it through His glory. He desired to know that presence by personal experience, and God granted his request. This was a great encouragement for Moses in his leadership task as he experienced some dry and dark moments from time to time as they journeyed into the Promised Land. God showed Himself to Moses as he chose; He made Moses to see only His back.
Because we are finite and morally imperfect, we may not be able to see God as he really is. We may only see different manifestations of His person and presence. We may only know Him by what He does and how He acts. The most excellent way to comprehend God is by Jesus Christ who is the radiance of God’s glory, the complete image of God in bodily form, the first born over all creation.
The radiance of God’s glory is His light on the earth and Jesus is that light. His light shines all over the world bringing illumination for man to know God more personally. Because Jesus now lives in you by the Holy Spirit, His glory lights you up and makes you the light that the world wants to see.
Therefore, do not sit in the valley of self-defeat, do not condemn yourself, and do not allow the devil to put you down. Take advantage of the ministry of the Holy Spirit in your life and show case the light of God’s presence to the world around you through the beautiful testimony of your life. Guard this treasure jealously and do not corrupt it.
Prayer: God help me to arise and shine out your glory to the world around me for your presence is real and true in me.
