JANUARY 5: THE PROMISE OFHIS LEADERSHIP

Our inability to see our  way through any journey in life must humble us and make us allow God to go ahead and lead us. He is God and knows the end even before the beginning. This year, you must develop a humble following spirit letting God stay ahead while you come from behind Him. Remember always that God does not always work in the way that seems best to us.

Instead of guiding the Israelites along the direct route from Egypt to the Promised Land, He took them by a longer route to avoid their having to fight with the Philistines at that early time of their journey. If God does not lead you along the shortest path to your destiny, do not become anxious or resist Him. Follow His leadership willingly and trust Him to lead you safely around all the unseen obstacles in your way.

The same God who led Israel out of Egypt in the best way according to His foreknowledge and in keeping with His promise is also faithful to the promise He has made to lead you this year and beyond. He led Israel by a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night, and all they needed to do was to follow. In Psalm 32:8, God says; “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go, I will counsel you…”. Take hold of this word as a promise from God to you and allow Him to fulfill it in your life. Let Him lead while you faithfully follow.
