Topic: “FEATURES/CHARACTERISTICS OF GODLY INTIMACY: UNITY OF HEART AND SOUL”

In every church, intimacy should begin with unity – when hearts share a common purpose and minds are one in Christ. The early church did this by putting aside individual preferences to give priority to God’s mission. Unity does not mean uniformity; it means valuing each other’s differences while holding on to our shared Christian values and using those differences to edify the body of Christ.
Imagine a choir where each voice sings a different tune. Without harmony, the music will come out as noise. However, when voices unite, the result is beautiful music that blesses the listener and glorifies God.
Godly intimacy is our hearts united together for one purpose – Christ.
When believers see each other as members of one body and obey the voice of the Holy Spirit, then the barriers that result in selfishness are removed. It is then that we can be united in Christ. Our call to deeper fellowship means that we must have intentional desires to be concerned about others. We must let love unite us, through our words and our attitudes.
Practice It: Pray together with your small group (Home Fellowship, Discipleship, Sunday School, etc.) this week, not just for personal needs, but for the spiritual unity of church members.
PRAYER: Lord Almighty, please unite my heart and soul as one with other believers in Your love and purpose. May I set aside all forms of divisions, and embrace others with transparency and grace, so that I may reflect Your heart in all I do in the name of Jesus, Amen.
