Topic: CREATED FOR A BLESSING
Text: Ps. 107:33-38
Memory Verse: Psalms 67:5-6: “May the people praise you, O God; may all the people praise you. Then the land will yield its harvest, and God, our God, will bless us.
One of the beautiful ways God displays His power over creation is to command creation to serve and bless man whom He has created in His own image.
In 1 kings 17:4, God commanded the Raven to feed the Prophet. The amazing thing is the fact that this bird brought the meal for the prophet in record time (twice daily – morning and evening) without eating or defacing the Bread that it brought. Only God, the Creator who has total control over His created works, could do that.
In the passage for today, the Lord reversed situations in creation to favour and bless man and by His command, He can do the opposite. He commands creation to serve His own pleasure, and by His command, He arrests the awkward to make it beautiful.
His ability to tame His creation is never limited.
He can punish (just as He did to Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon) and restore, in his manifold wisdom (Daniel 4).
His blessings on His created works make all the difference. Ps. 107:38; Gen 1:27.
He created for pleasure and also for blessings. Connecting with the Creator is one way to tap into His blessing. When our ways please Him, He will command creation to serve and bless us just as He commanded the Red Sea to be parted for the Israelites (Exodus 14:21). He led them with the pillar of clouds and commanded the rock to bring forth water for them to drink when they were thirsty. Exo.13:22; 17:5-6).
God is in the business of blessing His children who please Him through creation when we praise Him. Psalms 67:5-7 says, “May the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you. Then the land will yield its harvest, and God, our God, will bless us. God will bless us, and all the ends of the earth will fear him”.
Prayer: My Lord and Father, please command your created works to serve your purpose by blessing me. I worship You who reigns over the affairs of men.
