Topic:  “FEATURES/CHARACTERISTICS OF GODLY INTIMACY: CELEBRATING SPIRITUAL GROWTH TOGETHER“

Text: Philippians 1:3-5

Memory Verse:  “I thank my God every time I remember you. Philippians 1:3

When believers grow, the church should rejoice together. Paul celebrated his partners in the gospel with gratitude and joy. Spiritual intimacy also includes recognizing God’s work in others and encouraging their progress.

During a Sunday School session, Bro Uche committed to memorizing the weekly bible verse. He was able to keep his promise for six consecutive weeks. On the 7th week, his Sunday School teacher brought chocolate and a handwritten card saying to him, “Well done, faithful brother!” That moment of shared celebration made Uche feel deeply appreciated and valued.

Joyfully recognizing God’s work in someone’s life often helps us to shift our focus from ourselves to others. When we value each person’s progress as part of our shared journey, we overcome competitive instincts and our sense of unity deepens.

Practice It: Celebrate someone’s growth in faith this week with a personal note or public affirmation.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to notice and rejoice in the growth You’re working in the lives of those around me. Teach me not to compare, but to celebrate every step others take toward You with sincerity and joy. Give me a heart that cheers others on in their faith journey. May our shared victories draw us closer to each other and to You, in the name of Jesus, Amen.
