Topic: BEARING GOD’S PRESENCE – RIGHTEOUS LIVING AND DEPENDENCE ON GOD
Text: Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)
Memory Verse: Proverbs 3:5 – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Righteous living is about intentional commitment and dedication to God. Finding fulfillment in living in obedience to His command and laws. However, this pursuit of righteousness is not something we can achieve by self-will. We must depend on God for wisdom through His word, strength and guidance from the Holy Spirit.
Proverbs 3:5-6 aptly captures the essence of this dependence. Trusting in the Lord with all our heart means acknowledging that our own understanding is limited and flawed. True wisdom comes from submitting to God and allowing Him to direct our paths.
Righteous living requires a heart that is fully reliant on God. It involves daily surrender and a commitment to seek His will above our own. This dependence on God is not a sign of weakness but a recognition of His sovereignty and our need for His guidance. In all decisions, seek God’s wisdom rather than relying solely on your own understanding. James 1:5 promises that if we ask for wisdom, God will generously give.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank You for being my source of wisdom and strength. Help me to trust in You with all my heart and to lean not on my own understanding. Guide me in righteous living as I submit my ways to You. Teach me to depend on You daily, knowing that You will make my paths straight. May my life reflect Your character and bring glory to Your name in Jesus’ name. Amen.
