Topic: BEARING GOD’S PRESENCE – IMPACTING THROUGH
RIGHTEOUSNESS 2
Text: Matthew 5:14-16
Memory Verse: “Psalm 15:1-2 (NIV) – “Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent? Who may live on your holy mountain? The one whose walk is blameless, who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from their heart”.
God’s presence in our lives does not exist as a single or one-off event only. His presence will not expire just because we do not “feel” his presence. He is always with us. His presence is constant. This is the reason why we should practice communicating with our Father within our busy days, acknowledging him and speaking to him. We need to recognize that he is at work in our lives and be aware that he is concerned about the things that affect our lives. Psalms 68:19
Spending daily quality time with God is one important way of continuously practicing bearing God’s presence. During this period, it is necessary to cultivate a habit or time of reading the word of God, studying and meditating in His presence.
By doing this, we can know what he says about us and his desires towards us. It is in studying His Word that we get to know who we are in Christ. His Word, alive and active, is weapon and tool for life’s battles and guidance in our walk with Him as we learn from the records of victorious stories embedded in the Scriptures. Heb 4:12.
Seeking God in the place of prayer and letting Him know the issues of our hearts enables us to draw closer to Him. Learning to speak with God and opening up to Him in respect of issues in our lives, His answer and interventions will create an intimate relationship with Him that will make us confident to approach Him in our vulnerable life situations.
Reading God’s word and meditating on it thereof, seeking Him in the place of prayers and spending alone time with the Creator of Heaven and Earth will generate in us, godly character. This will help us influence our world in righteousness even as we live the Christian life, lifting the Lord Jesus higher as He draws men and women unto Himself.
PRAYER: Lord, give me the strength to walk in accordance with your word always. Help me to run to you no matter the condition I may find myself. I pray in Jesus’ mighty Name. Amen.
