JUNE 16 “THE POWER OF CHRIST’S RESURRECTION – 1″

The buildup of events preceding the crucifixion of Jesus was overwhelmingly pointing to a hopeless end in the minds of many, from a human angle, including those who had identified with His Life and Ministry.

During this time, there seemed to be an irreconcilable paradox that the One who had laid claims to being God and had demonstrated so much power through signs and wonders, suddenly became a captive in the hands of mere mortals.

Indeed, His death was a significant disruption to everything before it. The people who crucified Him were still not satisfied that He had died, but ensured that at His burial, a large Stone was rolled over His grave, sealed it, and had Soldiers on guard, for fear that He might rise again as He had told them. Little did they realize that the grave was far too small to contain the King of Kings, and the Lord of Lords. They had forgotten what He had told them about having the authority to lay down His life and to take it up willingly.

His disciples had gone into hiding for fear of suffering the same fate. Their hopes of having a Messiah seem faded at this juncture even as they waited in trepidation for the promised resurrection on the third day.

Then came the resurrection morning. The Heavens stood still, the Earth shook violently, the Seal gave way, an Angel of the Lord had come down and rolled away the Stone, and the Guards were terrified, shaken and became like dead men. Everything and everyone that had stood on the way to stop Jesus from rising from the grave gave way. Jesus arose from the dead, just as He had promised. Such was the demonstration of the Power of Christ’s resurrection, Hallelujah, He arose!

PRAYER: Oh Lord, please manifest the power of your resurrection in my life today and always so I can triumph over everything and anything that seeks to hinder your purpose in my life, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
