Topic: We Are Encouraged To Sing as Redeemed Souls”
Text: Psalm 107: 1-16
Memory Verse: “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy” – Ps 107:2

Redemption involves the idea of being rescued or saved from sin or its consequences. Singing, in the context of redemption, can symbolize joy, gratitude, and praise for this salvation.

According to Psalm 107:2: “Let the redeemed of the LORD tell their story—those he redeemed from the hand of the foe” This verse suggests that those who have been redeemed by the Lord should proclaim their deliverance, which can include singing praises. In Exodus 15:1-2: “Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the LORD: ‘I will sing to the LORD, for he is highly exalted. Both horse and driver he has hurled into the sea. The LORD is my strength and my defence; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.'”

This passage recounts the song of Moses and the Israelites after their deliverance from slavery in Egypt, highlighting their joy and gratitude through song. In Isaiah 12:5-6; the word of God says, “Sing to the LORD, for he has done glorious things; let this be known to the world. Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel among you.” Isaiah encourages singing as an expression of gratitude for the wondrous deeds of the Lord.

According to Ephesians 5:19-20, the scripture says “Speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit; Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Here, the apostle Paul encourages believers to sing as a way of expressing thanksgiving and worship for the redemption found in Jesus Christ.

Today, your redemption story should provoke singing as a natural response of joy, gratitude, and praise toward God for His saving work.

Prayer: Father, thank you for allowing me to sing because of my deliverance through redemption.
