Topic: “The power of Christ’s death in the works of our hands ”
Text: Proverbs 16:1-7
Memory Verse: Proverbs 16:3 – “Commit thy works unto the Lord and thy thoughts shall be established”.
Our God is interested in the work we do with our hands for a living. Our God does not support indolence that is why Solomon in all his God- given wisdom said in Ecclesiastes 9:10 ‘whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might for there is no work nor device nor knowledge nor wisdom in the grave whither thou goest. It is His will for us to work and enjoy the fruit of our labour. Ecclesiastes 3:13 further says, “and also that every man should eat and drink and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God”.
When we work, we struggle to make wealth in order to be able to eat and drink and afford beautiful things that will make life worth the living for us.
One of the fruits of our redemption through the death of Christ is to live in plenty. That is why Philippians 4:19 says, “my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus”. The power of Christ’s death in our work is evident in this passage. By His death, he was made poor so that we may no longer be poor. A lot of us always forget to commit our work into God’s hands believing that we can do it on our own, with our own wisdom.
The book of Proverbs enjoins us to commit our work into God’s hand and He will establish the thoughts of our hearts. What do you want to see in your work or business? You have a provision through the death of Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary to succeed in whatever you lay your hands upon to do.
PRAYER: My father and my God, I plead the blood of Jesus over the works of my hand. Let your mighty hands be upon it and establish the thought of my heart concerning it, Amen.
