Text: Psalm 119:97-112
Memory Verse: “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” – Psalm 119:105
When I first got into Lagos, one of the things I dreaded doing was driving to places I had never been without the help of someone who knew the way. However, as time went by, there were times when I needed to cover long distances without the help of someone beside me. So, I had to turn completely to the use of my google map. The more I used it, the better I became in using it. Now you’ll see me drive around town like someone who knows everywhere, but just check somewhere inside the car, you’ll find my google map guiding me through it all.
God’s Word is a powerful guide, illuminating our lives and directing our steps. When we engage with Scripture, we are drawn closer to God, and our worship becomes richer and more meaningful. Psalm 119:105 reminds us that God’s Word is like a lamp, showing us the way even in the darkest moments. It is not just for instruction – it is also a source of inspiration in our worship.
Worship that is rooted in the Word is anchored in truth. As we read and meditate on God’s promises and His character, our hearts are stirred to praise Him with a deeper understanding. His Word reveals His holiness, His faithfulness, and His love, which are all worthy of our worship. When we know God through His Word, our worship is not based on fleeting emotions but on the eternal truth of who He is.
The more we immerse ourselves in God’s Word, the more we are equipped to worship Him in spirit and truth. Let the Word of God shape your worship, leading you to praise with understanding and reverence.
Spend time today reading a passage of Scripture that speaks to God’s greatness. Reflect on how that passage influences your worship and offer Him praise in response.
PRAYER: Lord, thank You for Your Word that guides and lights my path. As I read and meditate on Your truth, may it inspire my worship and draw me closer to You. Help me to worship You in spirit and truth, rooted in Your Word, Amen.
