MAY 01 “THE LABOUR OF LOVE 1″

Science defines power as the rate at which work is done or dissipation of energy. Work is further defined as the measure of distance covered by a given force. In other words, no work is done if no distance is covered by a given force, no matter how big the force. The power of God’s love is demonstrated by how far He is willing to go. God has demonstrated to us in no small measure how much he loves us.  In the next few days, we shall consider what ‘distances’ God covered to show THE POWER OF HIS LOVE.

From today’s text, Apostle Paul in his epistle to the church at Ephesus explained the extent of the power of God’s love which was demonstrated by reconciling man to Himself. He says in verses 12-13; “remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world.  But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ.”

The Labour of God’s love is phenomenal. It does not give up on the hopeless state of man. It is daring and intentional. God’s love went out to reach for man. It changed his hopeless state, made him a citizen of God’s kingdom and made him a legitimate partaker of God’s promise, no longer far away and no longer strangers. God’s love is deep and searching. It can go to the lowest depth to bring out a drowning sinner, it can attract a faraway stranger and give him a home. God’s love is promising, never empty or vain. It is a love with an assurance of a glorious future. What a wondrous love of God!

Take time to reflect today on how far God’s love has brought you. You will be amazed at how much God has done for you and you must show God’s love to someone today!

PRAYER: Father, I receive anew the experience of your wondrous love in my life and in the lives of all my loved ones for all round transformation.
